Virtual Server Backups
If the data you hold on your server is irreplaceable then it's always a good idea to consider backups.

What system do you use?
We use a fully automated image based backup facility which copies and safely stores an entire image of your server for you to use should you so need. You can request this be set up from installation or enable it from your Claranet control panel.
You can take three image backups at any time - a daily, a weekly and a snapshot - and you can schedule and re-schedule these backups from within your Claranet control panel.
What happens when I need to restore?
You can restore your backups at any time from within your Claranet control panel. The relevant backup will be named (by you) and you just need select the required backup and select 'restore'. The backed-up image will replace whatever data is held on your server
What's the cost?*
There's no set up fee and you're charged £2.50 per 10Gb per month - you can work this out depending on the VS product you have as per the below:
- VS500 = £5.00 per month
- VS1000 = £8.75 per month
- VS2000 = £17.50 per month
If you're interested in applying backups to an existing virtual server please login to your Claranet control panel, navigate to your VS's summary page and select the backup option. If you'd like to install it on your new virtual server, just ensure you tick the option on signup (you can always install it later if required).
